EXPATICA | INTRODUCTION

For a Dutch web design studio Connaxis created a news portal for foreigners living abroad (www.expatica.com). This daily news portal gives local information in English to ex-pats.

OBJETIVE
Connaxis was responsible for setting up the technical infrastructure, the hosting and the development of various applications on the site (Content Management System, Job Marketplace, Business Directory, Forum Module, HR Micro-site, Newsletter, Classified Section).

RESULTS
This news portal has now grown to be the biggest in the world with five country sites (The Netherlands, Germany, France, Spain and Belgium). Expatica receives over 500,000 individual visitors per month.

RUTA SUR | INTRODUCTION

Connaxis initiated a new activity for a Dutch entrepreneur in Buenos Aires, Argentina (www.rutasur.com)

OBJETIVE
The entrepreneur sought investment opportunities from the huge influx of tourists visiting Argentina after the 2002 peso devaluation. Before 2002, 1 US dollar was worth 1 Argentine peso, afterwards 1 dollar was worth 3 pesos. The government expects annual tourist numbers to rise from 4 million in 2005 to 10 million by 2010.

SERVICIES
Connaxis set up a Captive Solution for the rental of motor homes for this entrepreneur. We founded the legal entity, rented and furnished the office, recruited qualified staff and built the new website.

RESULTS
Since the start in 2005 there are nine vehicles on the road and Ruta Sur is currently the second biggest player in this niche market.

OBJETIVE
The company wanted to drastically reduce its cost base to compete in the international market. Part of the cost saving would flow back to the client while another part was to be used for new investments.

SERVICIES
Connaxis has set up a new call center in downtown Buenos Aires, Argentina, with 64 positions. The call-center is currently working 24/7 in six European languages and has 170 employees.

RESULTS
The cost base has been reduced by 75% and the company’s other objectives have been attained in full. The company has grown exponentially over the past few years, a trend which is set to continue.
